Artist to Watch in 2015

The new year is here and hip-hop heads worldwide anxiously await new projects to be released from the likes of Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and many others. However, one MC is slated to release his debut album in 2015 that I feel will be one of the best projects of the year.

BJOEY BADASSrooklyn-based rapper Joey Bada$$ has come up as one of the best underground artists in the game. Joey Bada$$ was raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Edward R. Murrow High School. Joey became interested in rapping around the ninth grade and would eventually form a rap collective called Progressive Era, otherwise known as Pro Era, with high school classmates.

Joey has released multiple highly acclaimed mixtapes, such as Summer Knights and 1999. Joey’s lyricism and hard punching lines give him an edge most rappers are still trying to find. Tracks like “Christ Conscious” and “95 ‘til Infinity” encompass Mr. Bada$$’s creative power and hip-hop artistry.

This Brooklyn-native cannot only wreck your soul with his words, but he taps into his emotions with songs like “Right on Time”. With lines like, “The only lady I can ever match bonds with / On some atomic bond shit, our love is plutonic,” it’s hard not to raise eyebrows to his Brooklyn rhyme slinger.JOEY BADASS

The Pro-Era artist has built up high expectations for his upcoming debut, B4.DA.$$, which is slated for January 20, 2015. Nonetheless, I fully expect Mr. Bada$$ to fulfill all the expectations in his debut album.

If you haven’t checked him out already, I would highly suggest doing so right now because when January 15 comes around, hip-hop is going to have another East Coast mic killah ready to make your favorite rapper look whack.
